There has been these kind of projections for years; and none have come true. If fact, the models Scientists are using to claim irreversible climate damage are being proved wrong. These same projections were done in 1988 by Dr. James Hansen, a NASA Scientist, who testified to the US Congress that emissions had to be cut or else. Now 30 years into his projections, and he wasn't even close. Here's the story.
Look, do I believe that carbon emissions should be cut? Certainly. But not because of climate change. Human existance is not old enough to determine whether this warming trend is human based, or a natural geologic cyclical trend. What is known, is that human carbon emissions "add" to the cumulative effect of carbon warming, and that we can control. So yes, we should limit human carbon emissions, but not for climate change, but because it's the right thing to do and its a small step in the right direction for our planet. IMO this topic should be treated just like laws on litter and cigarette butts; human emissions should be curtailed, or totally eliminated, and the use of fossil fuels reduced. This is also the reason I'm looking at electric vehicles and bikes, not because of climate change, but because it's the right thing to do.
